Delete your account

In the app

• Open Got You and tap the round button at the top right to open Settings.
• With an account: tap your name at the top, then "Delete account" at the bottom, and confirm it is you (your password, your Google or Apple sign-in, or a code we email you). Without one: tap "Delete my data" at the bottom and confirm.

This happens at once and cannot be undone.

Without the app

Write to hello@trygotyou.com from the email address of your Got You account and ask for it to be deleted. We will do it within 30 days and tell you when it is done.

What is deleted

• Your account: name, email address, password, Google or Apple sign-in — and we tell Apple, so Got You no longer appears among the apps using your Apple ID.
• Everything you added: people, what you remembered about them, occasions, gifts, photos.
• Your settings and sessions.

Nothing is kept. Database backups roll over after 14 days.

Delete only some of your data

You can remove any part of what you added to Got You without deleting your account. In the app:

• A person, with everything remembered about them: open them from People, tap "Edit", then "Delete person".
• An occasion: open it from Calendar, tap "Edit", then "Delete occasion".
• A fact, wishlist item or note: on the person's page, tap it, then "Delete".
• A photo: tap "Edit" on the gift or the person, then "Remove photo".
• A gift idea: open it and tap "Archive". It leaves Ideas at once but is kept, under Settings › Archived ideas, until you delete your account.

What you delete is removed from our server at once, and from backups after the same 14 days. Or write to hello@trygotyou.com saying what you want removed.
